An Overview of the Joint Employer Final Rules issued by the U.S. Department of Labor and the NLRB

Feb 15, 2020

Duration: 1 hour, 4 minute

Online

Join Shannon Meade, Deputy Director of the Restaurant Law Center, as she welcomes Employment Attorneys Elizabeth Ebanks and Steven Pockrass of Ogletree Deakins for an overview of the final joint employer regulations issued by the U.S. Department of Labor and the National Labor Relations Board.

The 60-minute webinar includes background on former versions of the joint employer standard and definitions under the Fair Labor Standards Act and the National Labor Relations Act and the developments that led to the final regulations, including a summary of the comments to the Proposed Rules issued by the DOL and the NLRB submitted by the National Restaurant Association and the Restaurant Law Center, and the influence these comments had on the Final Rules.  Elizabeth and Steven will compare the final rules with the prior expansive, convoluted, and cumbersome frameworks, and explain illustrative examples applying the new final rules.
