Focus on proper food safety practices all year long

Creating a culture of food safety ensures safer dining for everyone, every day!

Learning about foodborne illnesses and fostering a culture of food safety can only help ensure safer dining for everyone.

Although National Food Safety Month has come to a close, the National Restaurant Association and its food-safety subject matter experts want to remind everyone to focus on understanding, managing, and preventing foodborne illness outbreaks every day, all year long.

The takeaway
Despite the progress made regarding food safety measures and practices, more than half of U.S. foodborne illness outbreaks are still linked to restaurants and foodservice businesses. This not only poses serious public health risks, but also potential legal, financial, and reputational damage for those held responsible for the outbreaks.

The bottom line
Learning about foodborne illnesses and fostering a culture of food safety at your establishment can only help ensure safer dining experiences for everyone. Our Association and Tork, sponsor of National Food Safety Month 2024, are committed to helping educate the industry about creating successful food safety cultures at restaurant and foodservice businesses around the country.

Thank you for participating in National Food Safety Month. The illness and outbreak tools and lessons our ServSafe team provided will strengthen your restaurant’s culture of food safety.
