New Kids LiveWell website offers easy access to nutritional kids’ meals
Shares info on participating restaurants and what their menus offer
The new website makes it easier for parents and caregivers to find restaurant options that meet their families’ needs when dining out.
The National Restaurant Association has launched a new consumer-facing website for its Kids LiveWell® program, designed to give parents, caregivers and their children easier access to tasty, nutritionally balanced, and dietitian-verified menu options at restaurants nationwide.
Kids LiveWell, which originally launched in 2011, has added 19 new participating brands to the roster, nearly doubling the options providing greater choice and nutritional transparency for families when they dine out.
The voluntary, industry-led initiative now spans 37 brands and nearly 75,000 restaurant locations around the country, including quick service, fast casual, and fullservice, independent, and chain restaurants.
Participating brands include: Anna Maria Oyster Bar, Applebee’s®, Arby’s®, Bonefish Grill®, Buffalo Wild Wings®, Burger King®, Burtons Grill & Bar®, Café on St. Armands, Carrabba’s Italian Grill®, Chick-fil-A®, Chipotle Mexican Grill®, Conchy Joe’s Seafood Restaurant & Bar, Denny’s®, Dunkin’®, Firebirds Wood Fired Grill®, First Watch®, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar®, Golden Corral®, IHOP®, Jamba®, Jason’s Deli®, Jimmy John’s®, Konala®, McAlister’s Deli®, Moe’s Southwest Grill®, Outback Steakhouse®, Panda Express®, QDOBA Mexican Eats®, Schlotzsky’s Deli®, Silver Diner®, SONIC®, Subway®, T-BONES Great American Eatery, Ted’s Montana Grill®, The Dolphin Bar & Shrimp House, Wendy’s®, and Whataburger®.
Each brand has committed to offering menu options for children that meet the strict Kids LiveWell criteria for total added sugar, sodium, saturated fat, and calories. Participating restaurants must provide at least two meals and two sides that include a minimum of two food groups—fruits, vegetables, whole grains, meat or meat alternatives, or dairy—and maintain default kids’ menu beverage options of water, milk, or 100% fruit or vegetable juice.
