Track proof of vaccine and mask mandates state by state

The tracker records and compiles all state and local mask mandates and COVID-19 related requirements. It is updated weekly.

With COVID-19 cases on the rise again and more state and local face mask and vaccination mandates in play, teams from the National Restaurant Association’s ServSafe Compliance and Advocacy groups joined forces to create a tracker of mandates and various pandemic-related requirements around the country.

The resource tracks:

  • Reinstatement of mask requirements—in some cases for vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals

  • Requirements for restaurants and other businesses to verify a customer’s vaccination status

  • States that prohibit asking for proof-of-vaccination through executive order or legislation (there are 20 so far)

ServSafe Compliance introduced the tracker Aug. 9. It records and compiles all state and local mask mandates and COVID-19 related requirements and will be updated weekly—Monday, Wednesday and Friday—according to Kate Piche, senior director of ServSafe Accreditation and Compliance.

“Several state and local government agencies have recently put in place COVID-19 mitigation measures that are again impacting the nation’s restaurants,” she said. “This tracker will provide restaurant operators with the latest information on new COVID-related state and local restrictions, with the goal of not only ensuring they’re aware of them, but also able to comply with these new requirements.”
