NRAEF accepting applications for 2025 scholarships

Students of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Scholarships range from $2,500 to $10,000 and can be used to help pay for education-related expenses.

The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) is awarding nearly $1 million in scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year.

The scholarships are available to students of all ages and backgrounds who are pursuing post-secondary study in the restaurant, foodservice and hospitality fields and interested in industry careers. Applications are being accepted at ChooseRestaurants.org/Scholarships through March 15.

The scholarships range from $2,500 to $10,000 and can be used to help pay for education-related expenses, such as tuition and fees, books, and room and board.

"The restaurant and hospitality industry represents opportunity for all – whether you're a high school student charting your first course or someone looking to change careers later in life," says NRAEF President Rob Gifford. "We're excited to support people as they reach for their dreams in our dynamic industry through these academic scholarships."

Over the last 37 years, the NRAEF has awarded a total of approximately $27 million through more than 6,000 scholarships. One of the 2024 recipients, Omari Romeo, is currently a student at Howard University in Washington, D.C., and majoring in supply chain management. He says his goal is to start a nonprofit aimed at empowering minority students who aspire to business careers of their own.

"By investing in the next generation, I hope to create a ripple effect of positive change that enables young people to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to society,” he says.
