Former Association chair Mallet wins 2022 Legends Award

Long-time industry exec honored for her service to the Association and Foundation.

Mallet has an extensive history of engagement on Board Committees and in task force work, and is a big proponent of workforce development and educational programs.

Industry veteran and 2012 National Restaurant Association Past Chair Roz Mallet received the 2022 Legends Award for her service to both the Association and Educational Foundation.

Mallet, president and CEO of PhaseNext Hospitality, was recognized for her work in the foodservice and hospitality industry and her exemplary efforts to boost both the Association and Foundation. The award was presented at the inaugural Board Leadership Summit during this year’s National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago.

“I’m gratified and grateful to receive the Legends Award from the National Restaurant Association,” Mallet said. “I’ve spent my life and career following the philosophy of doing well by doing good.  For my legacy to be that I’ve had a tangible lifelong impact on my colleagues and the industry at large is more than I could have imagined.”

The Legends Award, launched in 2017, is given annually by our Governance Committee in recognition of the recipient’s extensive community service, volunteerism, and contributions to our Association.

Mallet has an extensive history of engagement on Board Committees and in task force work, and is a big proponent of workforce development and educational programs. She continues to be a driving force in the Association and the industry. A mentor to many, she was praised during the award ceremony for her generosity of spirit, thought leadership and good counsel.

“Roz is a pioneer,” said Foundation Vice Chair James Fripp. “She is an individual whose tenacity has taken her from the front lines to ownership. Her commitment to not just her business, but to our business—our industry—and the people within is what makes her a legend.”

Association Past Chair and Foundation Emeritus Phil Hickey, chair of Miller’s Ale House Restaurants, added, “We are a better industry because of Roz Mallet.”
