Executive Vice President, Enterprise Marketing + Communications

Tia Mattson joined the National Restaurant Association in 2017 to advance the organization’s marketing and communications activities to better serve every restaurant. In this role, Tia unites the key attributes of the restaurant and foodservice industry into a compelling narrative about the importance of restaurants to our communities, culture, and economy. As Executive Vice President for Marketing and Communications, she built an award winning enterprise team across the Associations and National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. Under Tia’s leadership, the team designs and executes marketing and communication strategies, programs, and services in support of the Association’s business units. 
 
Prior to joining the Association, Tia was the founder and CEO of L. E. Media Mix, Ltd., where she built a team of strategic branding and marketing professionals and provided services to corporate clients and partners including Oskar Blues Brewery, Famous Daveʼs BBQ, Sphero, Active Interest Media, and the National Restaurant Association.
 
Previously, Tia was the Chief Marketing Officer for DGMR. In this role, Tia delivered executive leadership for marketing, branding, business development, sponsorship sales, PR, and advertising for 60+ national events. Building a 10-person, cross-functional team across the Marketing, Sponsorship, Merchandise, and Customer Service groups, she achieved significant growth results through enhanced marketing campaigns, raising registration by 125% while increasing profit margins, as well as secured strategic enterprise partnerships with Ford Motor Company, Kenmore, Paul Mitchell, and Sunny Delight Beverage Company, resulting in $10M in annual revenue. 
 
Tia also served as the Director of Global Public Relations for Crocs, Inc., during a hyper-growth period from $3M to $847M in revenue over three years. At Crocs, she drove the company’s global communication strategy for all brands across 100+ countries and managed 19 PR / IR firms, directed an award-winning global team of 35, led communication and investor relations for IPO, and managed a $3M budget for digital and social media tactics. 
 
Tia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Oregon.
