About the Marketing Executives Group (MEG)

The Marketing Executives Group (MEG) is a community of restaurant marketing professionals who are connected 365 days a year and come together every May in Chicago preceding the National Restaurant Association Show. MEG raises the level of industry excellence by connecting, inspiring, teaching and challenging each other through the exchange of ideas, thought leadership and best practices.

Attendance Policy

National Restaurant Association events are designed specifically for industry professionals who work directly for restaurant and foodservice operations, otherwise known as Operators.

We also invite Allied members as well as Allied companies who are not members of the Association to sponsor, support, and participate in our events. Allied companies are defined as industry suppliers, distributors, manufacturers, commodity groups, and other non-restaurant operator companies within the restaurant and foodservice industries.

If you are an Allied member company or with an Allied company who is not a member of the Association, you must sponsor the conference in order to attend. For available sponsorship opportunities, please contact Mia Roberts at

Consultants: If a restaurant or hospitality company outsources all marketing functions/needs, or does not have a marketing person on-staff, we will allow a registration on their behalf, but you must include the name of the company you are representing (please note this is strictly enforced and must be a client you currently represent).

Keynote Speaker

Doug Stephens Headshot

Doug Stephens, Retail and Consumer Futurist | Internationally Acclaimed Author and Founder of Retail Prophet
The founder of Retail Prophet, Doug Stephens is one of the world’s foremost retail and consumer futurists, and one of the Top 10 Retail Influencers of 2019. His books, The Retail Revival and Reengineering Retail have accurately predicted the growth and transformation of retail in the post-digital world, and Retail Prophet is the top-rated retail podcast on iTunes.
Keynote Speech: The Future of Consumerism
In this fascinating talk, Doug Stephens tackles the future of consumerism. He sheds light on the key shifts in economics, demographics, technology, and media that are completely transforming the consumer landscape, and the very essence of how we buy. Who the consumer is, in addition to how, where, and even why they shop, is changing rapidly and forever. The way our stores look—and how we interact with them—are constantly in flux. Mobile technology, social commerce, artificial intelligence, the internet of things, virtual reality, big data, and a deluge of developing technologies are all conspiring to forever change how we buy. How do we cope with all these transformations? Stephens shares what smart brands are doing today to re-imagine their businesses and capitalize on these historic changes.
