The End of Loyalty Programs: Assessing California’s New Privacy Law

In June, the California state legislature passed the nation's toughest data privacy law
to date - The California Consumer Privacy Act. CCPA will have deep implications for the restaurant industry when it goes into effect in January 2020, especially as it relates to IT and marketing practices.

It is widely expected that other states will adopt similar legislation next year and beyond. This activity in California is in addition to different IT compliance requirements concerning the European Union’s General Data Protection Regime.

In our upcoming webinar, Helen Foster of Davis Wright Tremaine on behalf of the National Restaurant Association will offer:

  • A solid understanding of the CCPA.
  • What it will entail for restaurant IT operations no matter where your restaurants are located.
  • Implications of the CCPA on other states and the efforts to craft a federal privacy and data security legislation.
