Michael English
Executive Director of Product Development
Heartland Payment Systems

Michael English, a payments and technology expert with more than 25 years of experience in the industry, is the Executive Director of Product Development.

In this role, he is responsible for the strategic direction and development of the company’s terminal, gateway and mobile product suites, including the evaluation and integration of emerging technologies.

Prior to joining Heartland, he held several product, sales and marketing management positions at NCR and Ingenico.

Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Pittsburgh and has completed graduate programs at Emory University and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Janette (Jan) McGrath
VP Go To Market Strategy USPD

Jan joined MasterCard in April 2013 as part of the US Product Delivery team where her role is the VP Go To Market Strategy. Currently her role is primarily focused on the migration to chip technology in the US market across both issuing and acquiring.

Jan has worked globally in the payments business for many years. She has filled key roles in defining and implementing new payment products, particularly Chip solutions (and EMV migrations) and other industry changing innovations.

Jan’s practical experience as an industry executive and consultant has provided her exposure to a wide range of organizations, business models and cultural diversity across the many countries she has lived and worked in. She has a solid understanding of the global payments business, infrastructure and operational support systems.

She has a Masters Degree in Innovation and Service Management from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Victoria Australia.

Jim Higgins
Vice President, Payments and Financial Services
National Restaurant Association

Jim Higgins joined the National Restaurant Association in 2013 as Vice President of Payments and Financial Service Products after a 35 year career in the payment industry, He has served as a consultant, expert witness, executive and senior manager to card issuers, acquirers, banks, retailers, inventors, investors and other entities in the payment ecosystem.

In 1997, after many years with Sears and Discover Card, he launched his own executive payment industry-consulting firm; since then has spent approximately half of his career as an independent consultant; the other half as an executive or officer for several companies.

Consulting clients included banks, corporations, retailers, issuers, acquirers, and investment firms. Employers include Sears Credit, Discover, Vantiv, Fifth Third Bank, Wal-Mart, U.S Bank/Kroger, and since September of 2013, the National Restaurant Association.

Jim lives in Vero Beach, Florida with Maddie, his wife of 41 years.
