About the Restaurant Neighbor Award
The National Restaurant Association and founding partner American Express are pleased to honor restaurant companies that have gone above and beyond in giving back to their communities through the Restaurant Neighbor Award program. Each year, four national winners receive $5,000 each to continue their charitable works.

2009 Restaurant Neighbor Award

In September 2009, we honored four national winners and 100 state finalists for outstanding community service:

Small Business: Madam's Organ, Washington, DC
Mid-size Business: Rod's Steak & Seafood Grille, Morristown, NJ
Large Business: BJ's Restaurants Inc, Nationwide
Cornerstone Humanitarian: The Common Man Family of Restaurants, Ashland, NH

More Information

The National Restaurant Association and founding partner American Express developed the Restaurant Neighbor Award to raise awareness about the restaurant industry's contributions in local communities across the country and to inspire other restaurant operators and owners to make even greater contributions in their communities. The Award honors charitable contributions in four categories (small business, mid-size business, large business/national chain, and Cornerstone Humanitarian). Each participating state restaurant association will select winners in their respective states that will compete with winners from other states for the national award.

The Association works to lead America's restaurant industry into a new era of prosperity, prominence, and participation, enhancing the quality of life for all we serve.
